Reflections in his work
My work is an attempt to capture the richness of reality. Unlike realism, which mostly shows everyday images, and surrealism, which proposes images of the impossible, what I try, in general, is to depict improbable but possible scenes. This gives a lot of room for compositional challenges. In an attempt to bring back the meaning of the images, I am interested in the presence of subtle symbolic allusions. On the other hand, I pay great attention to the detail and to the variety of textures. I am interested in the combination of the worlds of portrait painting and of still life painting, executed in varied techniques such as acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel and pencil. At present, and for the past few years, I work in the practical development of my doctoral thesis, which reflects on the pictorial
resource of the painting within the painting.
